Starting with a new urologist shouldn’t be a stressful occasion. We regularly have patients come to us that are first time urology patients, patients who have experienced an insurance change, and patients who have lost their urologic physician due to retirement or other life changes. Dr. Bankhead and his staff have designed treatment programs for patients that include “real life” solutions for health and wellness. Meet Dr. Bankhead
Roy W. Bankhead, M.D. was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and raised in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He earned his bachelor’s degree from The University of Oklahoma. He remained at The University of Oklahoma for his medical degree and residency in Surgery and Urology. He also received additional training in urological cancers at The University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center. Houston, Texas. Over the years he has sought advanced training as Medical Director of Vasectomy Oklahoma.
Your First Urology Exam
If It’s Your First Urologic Exam: As with any doctor’s visit, it’s good to be prepared and make sure you get the most out of your time with the urologist. Here are some tips to ease the fear and make your first trip to the urologist a successful one.
Have all your information together including:
•Insurance cards
•Referral numbers (if needed)
•Blood & urine test results
•Food and drink diaries (if relevant)
During the visit, expect to:
•Provide a urine sample
•Share medical history
•Undergo a physical exam
•Your doctor may order blood tests

If You Are Moving Your Urology Care to Us: Whatever your reason to coming to our center, we are glad that you chose us! We recognize that you have many choices in your healthcare and will always be respectful of your choices.
If you have already been established with a urologist, we are happy to request your records so that all of your information follows you to our office. If you know that it is time to have a certain test or recheck, we welcome you to speak with our scheduling staff so that all your testing can be done inconjunction with your first exam.
If you have been on a regular treatment schedule, please let us know so that we can be prepared to provide your treatment on the initial visit. In all cases, we will do our best to minimize your treatment disruption.
